Critter Creek Farm Plus Goat Yoga Equals Rock Hill Fun!

In our lovely community of Rock Hill, you will find a space offering therapeutic fun. Critter Creek Farm, owned by Terri Gustin, a former nurse, is home to "goat yoga," wedding planning, flowers, and more. It is a pastoral paradise. You will find a schedule of events on the website - CritterCreekFarm.com

Here's what Terri had to share with us -

"We're in our 5th season of goat yoga and currently have 15 babies joining us for each yoga session with more on the way.  Our "home" location is the White Home in Rock Hill but we make appearances around the area with dates coming up at the Anne Springs Close Greenway as well (April 3. Sept 18 and Nov 13).  The yoga practice itself, while secondary to the goat experience, is a foundational practice suitable for all levels.  The schedule can be found at Goat Yoga, Yoga - Critter Creek Farm - Rock Hill, South Carolina | Critter Creek Farm"

Goat yoga is loved by everyone who comes out to try it, as you'll see from posts on her Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest profiles. It actually came on the scene back in 2016 and has become an adorable trend across the nation. Forget about hot yoga and try this instead! You'll find that it's not simply fun but also great for your health in that it is known to decrease your blood pressure, cholesterol levels, triglyceride levels as well as depression. You can't go wrong!

When you go, tell them The Linda Hall Team sent you AND HAVE FUN!!

Rock Hill Draws In More Business

Rock Hill is becoming quite the lively community. I thought we'd share some new businesses who are choosing Rock Hill.

Rock Hill is a very charming area that draws in a lot of interest from people all around the area. One of the attractions is the Mural Mile and recently there was a new mural added which speaks to a young girl having the power to dream big and accomplish anything. This was created by Darion Fleming, a local artist.

The Carolina Panthers plan to open a state-of-the-art headquarters in Rock Hill in 2023. The cost expectation of this new facility is expected to be around 1 billion dollars! The project is being tagged as "The Rock." The team is expected to hold their training camp there, but will remain in Uptown Charlotte for the home games.

This development is fueling other businesses' interest in the area. Just recently Common Market announced they'd be opening in Rock Hill at 161 West Main Street this coming Summer. The Common Market is a convenience store with a deli and bar. Follow them on Instagram to receive their latest opening updates.

Next, the Kre8 Gastropub's Rob Masone has secured a spot in historic Rock Hill. Rob opened his new restaurant called the Kounter which is located at 135 E. Main Street, Suite 101 in Rock Hill.

A post shared by Kounter (@kounterdining)

The most recent eatery, in particular, is a new restaurant called "Old Town Kitchen & Cocktails." It will be opening its doors in the former White Horse Space within the historic Lowenstein Building. The White Horse was a staple in the community for 44 years before closing in October 2020. So these are pretty big shoes to fill, but Old Town Kitchen seems ready for the challenge.

You can expect a menu of everything spanning from sandwiches and salads to the revered "meat and two" plates. You'll also be able to choose from 16 taps of regional beers, wine and crafted cocktails.

The expected opening timeframe is early Summer of 2021. How exciting!!

Before we close this blog we will mention a couple of more recent business openings that you may want to check out.  Chic Boutique is one which opened January 29, 2021 and is located at 148 Main E. Street. They carry women's apparel, handmade shoes, jewelry and more. Grab your girlfriends and go shopping!

The Hickory Post is another recently opened store on Main Street which houses multiple artists and carries tons of items for your home.

And we'll end with the mention of the Sweet Tea Cafe which opened back in October 2020. Be sure to follow them on their Instagram page. @SweetTeaCafe

5 Reasons People Chose To Move To South Carolina in 2020

According to the annual North American Moving Services report of annual migration, South Carolina was once again on the  top of the list of States people were moving to in 2020. South Carolina has consistently ranked in the top five since 2016. Why do people choose to move here? Several reasons and here are the top five reasons.

1. Weather. Many people are leaving harsh winters behind to enjoy the mild and temperate weather found here in South Carolina. You won't find a foot of snow here unless you travel to the mountains and that's a wonderful option for those who wish to have it on their demand. Visit it and then return home to milder conditions.

2. Jobs. South Carolina's job market has been doing well as nearby Charlotte, North Carolina is headquarters for Bank of America and has major offices for Wells Fargo. Charlotte is sometimes perceived as just a banking town, but there are many more businesses that employ the growing population.

3. Commute. The City of Charlotte is conveniently located within an easy commute to communities such as Fort Mill, Lake Wylie, Indian Land, Rock Hill, Clover and many more areas. This affords a variety of options for people to choose from when deciding where to plant their roots.

4. Affordability. This is definitely another contributing factor to why people are moving here from areas such as New York, New York, Anaheim, California, San Diego, California, Chicago, Illinois and Riverside, California. The housing costs there are much more expensive then in South Carolina. They find their dollar goes much further in the type of home they can afford.

5. Top Rated Schools. The schools here are consistently rated highly. Just look at the Fort Mill School District which is #1 in the State of South Carolina as one quick example!

For more information on this report, click over to NorthAmerican.com/Migration-Map and remember, The Linda Hall Team of Century 21 First Choice is here to assist you in every aspect of your move. We can connect you with the local resources to help you settle in. Contact us today!!

Fort Mill, SC - The Perfect Place To Call Home!

Fort Mill is located a quick 23 minutes (approx. 18 miles) outside of Charlotte, NC. Many, including Linda Hall, find Fort Mill, SC to be the perfect place to call home. Let’s find out why Linda chose Fort Mill.

It’s centrally located and is less than 30 minutes from Charlotte, as mentioned. It’s also a short drive to Blowing Rock where Linda and her husband, Pete, and their golden retriever Molly, like to go on weekends and holidays. In approximately 2 hours they can be at their cabin in the mountains. If the ocean is your preferable vacation spot, then that option is only a few short hours away. Closer than the ocean are the lakes and the main one that comes to mine is Lake Wylie which has 325 miles of shoreline.  Lake Wylie is another blog for another time, but we’ll get to it!

Fort Mill offers plenty to do for every taste. You’ve got the historic downtown Main street area, great shopping and dining places to choose from and lots of entertainment. There’re also many opportunities to enjoy nature. We’ll mention some that are top of mine.

·         Anne Springs Close Greenway – tons to do PLUS they have a GREAT restaurant here!

·         Golfing enthusiasts will love their choices of places to play their favorite game - Springfield Gold Club - Fort Mill Golf Club – Regent Park Golf Club

·         At Walter Y. Elisha Park they are currently building a brand new Amphitheater.

·         There are also these choices of parks: Riverwalk Trail and Park - Steele Street Park - Harris Street Park – Millstone Park

·         And a stone’s throw from the amazing McDowell Nature Center and Preserve in nearby Lake Wylie.

The housing market in Fort Mill is booming. There are new homes, townhouses and apartments to choose from. Depending on your desires, you’ll have plenty of choices. Use our search tool to start your journey.

The Fort Mill weather certainly attracts many Northerners who grow tired of dealing with snow. Although the weather here is really quite beautiful most of the year. It can get kind of hot for 3 months out of the year, but you have the mountains, lakes and ocean to escape to. Spring and Fall are meant for outdoor recreation and outdoor dining.

We cannot end without mentioning the Fort Mill School District. It’s highly ranked AND the Fort Mill High School was just recognized by the National Blue Ribbon Schools of Excellence organization as a Lighthouse School.  That’s the FIRST High School to receive that honor in 2021. You can read more about what that recognition means by clicking on the following article - FORT MILL HIGH IS NAMED LIGHTHOUSE SCHOOL; FIRST HIGH SCHOOL TO GET THE HONOR IN 2021

If you choose to call Fort Mill your home, we know you will not be disappointed. Let the Linda Hall Team help show you around and become acquainted with this wonderful community. Contact us today!!

Love Where You Live

The Linda Hall Team consists of people who are local or rather, all but one who is local. Our virtual assistant who helps with our online marketing is the only person who isn't local. It works for our clients because when they need to know about specific communities, neighborhoods, or features of an area, the team provides the answers. It really has become very helpful for the clients who are moving here from out of state. We can find out if they are looking for a community that caters to families or if they are young and single with different needs. We not only view our clients' needs for a home but for the location they will call home. So we thought that we would do a blog that features some of our real estate team members and find out what they love about where they live. It might help you discover a new place to explore as well!

Sabine Hammermann resides in the Tega Cay area. Sabine, as you can see, loves the outdoors and she also loves her dogs! This area has proved to be a perfect fit for her. Feel free to contact Sabine if you'd like to learn more about the Tega Cay area.

Next, we look to Caroline McCarthy who also resides in Tega Cay. Caroline is drawn to Tega Cay's location and proximity to Lake Wylie. She shares how much her Northern friends enjoy visiting her because of the fun lifestyle they encounter here. Contact Caroline to learn more about the Tega Cay community and why it might be a good fit for you!

Amanda Sisko lives in Lake Wylie and she is a big part of the reason our clients' transactions run so smoothly. She is the Director of Operations for The Linda Hall Team and Amanda shares her love for the Lake Wylie community, which she has lived in for over 16 years! She definitely knows Lake Wylie and because of its proximity to Charlotte, as she shares, she is a resource to that big City as well! Contact Amanda with any questions you might have about the Lake Wylie community.

We hope you have found this useful and that you realize when you hire The Linda Hall Team you are not simply hiring a real estate advocate, but also a local resource and on that note, please take advantage of our newsletter that we send out every other week.
