Giving Back to Our Community
Humane Society of York County
The Linda Hall Team participates in an annual food and supply drive for the Humane Society of York County. In 2016, we were able to collect over 500lbs of food and supplies. Our team also contributes funds to run the PAWSibilities Annual Christmas shop.
Our very own Elaine Siegel volunteers her time to the Humane Society of York County!! Elaine, along with 6 other volunteers, toiled many hours to open PAWSibilities Thrift Shop on December 6, 2008, to raise money for the homeless kitties and puppies at the Humane Society of York County. Elaine continues to volunteer at the shop, serving not only as a volunteer, but also is on the advisory board and holiday items coordinator. The shop grew from a small shop to a 2,000 square foot shop, which offers an array of items at fantastic prices. The items are donated by individuals and local businesses and the shop is run by a group of dedicated volunteers.
In 2010, since so many Christmas items had been received, an offsite Christmas store was opened and has continued for 7 years. Opening in November and closing in December. Elaine has been dubbed as the “Chief Elf” by the volunteers. The location of the Christmas store changes yearly as a vacant location or donated location has to be found. The Christmas store raised $52,330 in 2016!! Also in 2016, Elaine, with the help of volunteers chaired a plant sale, yard sale and worked on Ebay which resulted in a total amount raised for 2016 of $62,191!!
Elaine explains that volunteering for the Humane Society of York County is a “Labor of Love”, and being a part of the HSYC family is truly amazing.
